Sue Glover announces long-awaited solo album “For No Reason At All”, Released 12 June on 7A Records. After decades spent behind the scenes shaping some of the biggest sounds in pop and rock, Sue Glover steps forward with her long-awaited solo album, and shares the title-track and lead single – a breathtaking song that finally puts her voice front and centre.

Best known as one half of the legendary duo Sue and Sunny with her sister Sunny Leslie, Glover’s voice has been a quietly defining presence on countless classic recordings. The duo’s distinctive harmonies have featured on iconic tracks by artists including Elton John, T. Rex, Donna Summer, Tom Jones, and Mott the Hoople, cementing her legacy as one of the most respected backing vocalists of her generation. Sue and Sunny were in high demand throughout the industry, contributing to landmark recordings such as Elton John’s “Your Song” and “Tiny Dancer,” Mott the Hoople’s “All the Young Dudes,” T. Rex’s “20th Century Boy” and “Children of the Revolution,” Donna Summer’s “Hot Stuff” and “On the Radio,” and Tom Jones’ “She’s a Lady.”

Alongside their extensive session work, they also recorded in their own right, releasing singles on labels including Columbia, Epic, and Deram, as well as their 1970 CBS album ‘Sue & Sunny’. Glover later returned with her solo album ‘Solo’ in 1976 on the DJM label, making ‘For No Reason At All’ a notable comeback nearly 50 years in the making. The first taste of the album, its title-track, is out now. Written by Barry Mann and produced by Christopher Gunning, the song is pure listening magic: lush, emotional, and beautifully layered, showcasing Glover’s signature vocal style at its absolute best. This is not just a single, it’s a long-overdue spotlight on a truly remarkable artist.

Reflecting on her career, Glover notes, “A duet is a balance… you want voices that mesh well and create something greater together.” That philosophy lies at the heart of ‘For No Reason At All’, a deeply personal collection that brings her artistry firmly into focus. Sparked by a chance reconnection with musician Steve Annetts, Glover revisited a vault of unreleased material spanning decades. With remastering by Bob Clarke, new arrangements by Bobby Jo Morledge, and fresh vocal contributions from her daughter, these hidden gems have been beautifully restored and reimagined into a rich, genre-spanning collection.

From soaring ballads to vibrant pop, the album showcases Glover’s versatility as both a singer and songwriter; though collaboration remains central, with Tony Burrows on “We Found Love” and Bob Saker on “We’ll Survive.”

A particularly special highlight is the previously unreleased duet “You’re My Everything,” featuring the late Davy Jones, a poignant and joyful moment that captures a treasured musical connection. After a lifetime of elevating others, Sue Glover’s voice finally takes centre stage, warm, expressive, and unmistakably her own. ‘For No Reason At All’ is a celebration of an extraordinary career and a lifelong love of music.
